Frequently Asked Questions
We will be as helpful as possible in answering questions about traveling but please be aware that the JPWA does not assist in travel cost, booking rooms or transportation, or in any sort of VISA or immigration process. Each student must be able to get themselves to the United States, to Knoxville, and to class each day.
A PLACE FOR QUESTIONS
We strongly recommend joining the Facebook group "I Know of a Place in Knoxville". We do not run this group but it is a place where you can post questions about lodging and apartments, part-time jobs, places to eat and visit, and all things Knoxville. You will normally receive quick answers from people who live right here in town. This group is a valuable tool for planning your stay.
WATCH YOUR CLASS IN REAL-TIME
Students have the ability to sign up to see their classes recorded in REAL TIME and posted online for instant access! You can watch back the session you just had from the comfort of your hotel or apartment the same evening that you complete it. And then these courses are available after graduation for you to refresh yourself on particular things you learned or to simply remember the fun you had. Students can sign up for this for the discounted price of $5.99 PER MONTH at Patreon.com/JPWA
If you have received your acceptance letter you may sign up NOW and you can get a head start by watching the class that is currently in session. Take advantage of this special pricing!
The JPWA does not have on-site dorms or rooms. We cannot guarantee which places will have rooms when you come but our students have had success with Extended Stay America, Candlewood Suites, In-Town Suites, as well as apartment sharing with other students. If you would like to share an apartment we can add you to the student facebook group so that you can attempt to make arrangements. Due to safety reasons we cannot endorse sleeping at the facility, camping out, or living out of vehicles.
If you are not yet a student any and all visits by potential students, media, or otherwise should be directed with the subject line "Attention Dr. Tom" at email@example.com
Visits are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of Dr. Tom.
PREPARING TO COME
Knoxville has an airport with affordable flights through Allegiant, Frontier, and others. We have a bus station and are a one-day drive from many areas. If you have been accepted as a student take an evening to make a check list of things you would need like comfortable workout clothes, supportive athletic shoes (tennis shoes, Asics wrestling shoes, etc.)
